HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Registration

  • To register online, please click here.
  • Please provide only correct and appropriate data for the online registration.

Preparation

  • Practice your skit, performance, script or anything that will make you imitate the character you will be cosplaying as.
  • Read the rules below and abide by them.
  • Answer the registration form with only correct and valid data.

Participation

  • In the event-proper, look for the registration booth for confirmation of your registration and payment of 50 PHP then inquire about your BGM, video materials and other stuff at the marshalls roaming around. Good luck!

DETAILS

Fantasm Cosplay Lives Competition is a cosplay competition which wants to create a competition where realism of the cosplay matters. The judging and consideration is not based solely on how the costume appears or what maerial it is made from but moreover on how realistic the cosplay is compared to the original character. So in order to win BE AS CLOSE TO THE CHARACTER AS POSSIBLE ON AND OFF THE STAGE.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • All character from any genre be it Western or Japanese are welcome to join (comics, anime, movie, manga, game, toy, etc,)
  • Any type of costume are welcome, be it cloth, rubber sheet, fiber or others.
  • There is no disqualification whether you won or not in previous competitions.
  • All National Officers of Naruto Cosplayers PH are  disqualified from joining the competition and this includes not only the Top 4 main officers but everyone including Chapter Presidents.
  • No member of the staff or organizing committee will be allowed to participate in the cosplay event competition.

Mechanics and Rules

  • There is no categorization for this cosplay competition. 
  • Pre-registered participants are required to cnfirm at the event date and venue from 10am to 2:00pm.  Pre-registered cosplayers can still confirm even when the competition is starting as long as the last cosplayer had not been called.
  • There will also be an onsite registration from 10am to 1:30pm.
  • All cosplayers are required to submit 3 copies of their characters reference photo in detail.
  • Cosplayers are required to fill out the form honestly specially as regards the make of their costume and who made it.
  • Each will be given a total of two (2) minutes stage performance.
  • Cosplayers are advised to be in costume at least an hour before the competition starts.
  • Cosplayers should be in the holding area at least 30 minutes before the event starts.
  • Acceptance is on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVED basis.
  • All competitors will be asked to read the Rules and Mechanics and sign that they have read and understood
  • Dangerous stunts, metal props and other dangerous objects or props will not be allowed.
  • In case of destruction or damage due to a contestants cosplay act, the cosplayer will be the one to answer for the said damages.
  • The decisions of the judges are final.
  • If you have any complaint please watch out for our feedback form or drop it at the suggestion box/feedback box that we will deploy during the event.
  • Winners who are announced and not present will be contacted via mobile phone to arrange collection of prizes. A representative from the organizing team will collect the prize in their behalf.

JUDGING

  • There will be a judge per criteria.
  • Judges for this competition will be selected based on their knowledge and expertise to judge the particular criteria.
  • The judges will only be concentrating on the criteria which he/she is assigned.
criteria

  • 25% COSTUME - how similar the costume is to the original character and to the reference photo submitted.
  • 25% REALISM - how realistic the portrayal of the character is.
  • 25% ENGAGEMENT - how engaging the character is with the people at the event and with other characters.
  • 25% DIFFICULTY - how difficult the chosen character is.
  • These criteria is applicable not only on stage but also off the stage.
  • The highest from each of the criteria will determine the winner for the SPECIAL AWARDS, however, in order to confirm the winner the judge uncharged of that criteria must confirmed and seek the approval of the majority of the judges.
  • The overall cosplayer with the highest score will win the major award, FANTASM COSPLAY AWARD.
  • Overall Scoring Summary will be released online and posted.
  • Decision of the Judges is final and irrevocable.
  • Prizes

    • FANTASM Cosplay Award – overall award for the most engaging, most realistic, most difficult and overall best costume.
    • Difficulty Award – overall award for the most difficult cosplay.
    • Engaging Award – overall award for the most engaging impact to judges
    • Costume Award – overall award for the overall best costume.
    • Realism Award – overall award for the most realistic performances.

    Note: There might also be SPECIAL AWARDS for best series based cosplay subject to event developments
