📜 PINOY OTAKU FESTIVAL HISTORY

POE 2011

PINOY OTAKU ENCORE Before PINOY OTAKU FESTIVAL

PINOY OTAKU ENCORE 2011 is our first major event that focuses on the true Pinoy Otaku identity which is a culture on its own focusing on the Pinoy's dedication as manifested by the current trend in popular culture. It is shown by the blending of three cultures; Filipino, Japanese and Korean. The event highlights the true Pinoy Otaku in all of us. We are merging our own Pinoy Otaku Culture here in celebration of WHO WE ARE AS FILIPINOS and not always in the shadow of other countries. It is about time that we discover our very own identity. Through this event we are CELEBRATING WHO WE ARE. We cannot be Japanese or Korean but for sure we can be a Pinoy Otaku who are Pinoys.

PINOY OTAKU FESTIVAL 2013: PINOY SUPERHEROES ARISE

From Pinoy Otaku Encore we evolved into PINOY OTAKU FESTIVAL: PINOY SUPER HEROES ARISE! is a call for all of us to rise up and unite for our country and the community we belong in. We encourage you to spark the Filipino spirit of BAYANIHAN in all of us. There will be four charitable groups which you can help during the event so that they can further their service to their chosen cause.

PINOY OTAKU FESTIVAL 2014: FANTASM

Trying to achieve an event which is also a Live Action Role Play or LARP, we came up with “FANTASM” in 2014. Fantasm means a creation of the imagination or fancy; fantasy (Fhan付asm). This year we are introducing a new kind of cosplay competition. A competition where realism of the cosplay matters. for more details about FANTASM COSPLAY LIVES COMPETITION.

PINOY OTAKU FESTIVAL 2017: DANKETSU

This is probably our biggest POF and most successful compared to previous events. Ayala Malls Fairview Terraces was very kind to support all the needs of the event including the venue, LED Wall, prizes, and sound system.

“DANKETSU.” The title is the Japanese term for “unity.” Pinoy Otaku Festival (POF) 2017: DANKETSU wishes to bring together and unite the Otaku culture in the Philippines which includes cosplay, manga, music, games and more. We would invite various organizations to collaborate with us and show a message of unity towards achieving positive endeavors in the culture.

POF 2018

PINOY OTAKU FESTIVAL 2018: AI (Love)

The theme for POF 2018 is Ai which means “LOVE” in Japanese. We also incorporated our local Baybayin writing into our official logo for this year which means PAG-IBIG. We are hoping that you will support the event, share it and invite your friends to attend. We also used an event mascot with the same name and is from the game Love Virus by Team Kizuna headed by Russell Alfonso. Pinoy Otaku Festival (POF) 2018: AI spreads love and camaraderie within the pop culture community in the Philippines. It also want promotes cosplay, manga, music, games and more. During this event we make ANIME GAME CHALLENGE bigger which consists of customized popular game shows that can be participated by the audience. It clicked and it became a part of the event.
